The goal was to create a true resort estate offering chalet rentals in — an exceptional natural environment, along with numerous services and activities — for the whole family.

1996
The story of the Domaine des Montagnais begins in 1996, when the municipality of Val-Racine put up for sale a piece of land of 50 acres to create a tourism project there. Among the proposals received, Luc Morin’s was selected. His goal: to create an estate with chalets, services and activities for the whole family, in the heart of an exceptional natural environment.

1997
In 1997, this vision came to life with the construction of the very first chalet, Le Lutin, marking the beginning of a great adventure.

1999
In 1999, two more chalets were added to the site, along with new recreational facilities: a pool, a children’s playground and a volleyball court.

Over the years
The Domaine continued its development with the acquisition of three other large adjacent lots. This expansion made it possible to add 13 new rental chalets.

Today
After more than thirteen years of operation, Luc Morin chose to pass on the Domaine, leaving behind a legacy filled with passion, challenges and unforgettable memories. Today, we are proud to carry on this story and above all, we want to preserve the spirit imagined at its beginnings: a gathering place where people come to unwind, share good times and fully enjoy the beauty of our region.
Our mission is simple : to offer quality accommodations, take care of our visitors and help them discover a region we deeply love. That’s also why we build partnerships with local businesses and are constantly looking to improve the Domaine.

Passionate, creative and always attentive, Joëlle is co-owner of the Domaine and contributes every day to making it a warm and welcoming place visitors want to come back to. Her goal: to offer a quality experience by paying particular attention to detail, customer service and the continuous improvement of the estate.

Meet Christine… or Goguette to her friends. An employee of the Domaine for more than 15 years, she is the pillar of its smooth operation. Whether it’s booking your stay, answering your questions or lending a hand during your visit, she is the one who will be there for you, always with a smile. Christine is the kind of employee every owner dreams of having on their team, and we are proud that she is part of ours.

Joanie
Meet Joanie, one of the two co-owners of the Domaine. Thanks to her background in marketing and administration, she is the logical, mathematical brain of the business. Always calm and cheerful, she is the quiet strength of the team and the one who runs the numbers before Joëlle’s slightly crazy projects are put into action.
